Americanized Benefit Consultants (ABC), the precursor to Empower BIG, was founded in 2003 by Brandon Boehm. After graduating from Baylor University, Brandon ventured out to work for employee benefit brokerage firms as an Account Manager and Consultant from 1994-2002. The self-funded experience with Memorial Herman in conjunction with being a successful benefits consultant, allowed Brandon to successfully launch Americanized Benefit Consultants and operate at the highest level.

Since its launch, ABC’s growth has been built on tailored benefit solutions aimed at employee engagement, harmonizing financial goals, and retaining employees. These pillars, along with our ethos of honesty, integrity and client-centricity, have positioned ABC as a top choice for small and mid-size companies.

Over the last two decades ABC has added experts in the insurance industry that provide sound counsel and cost-effective benefit plans for clients in all areas of group medical, stop loss, short/long term disability, life/AD&D and supplemental products. Americanized is respected and known for their self-funded expertise, risk management and underwriting knowledge.

In 2018, fueled by client need and long-standing success, Americanized expanded into commercial insurance. Launched as Americanized Property & Casualty, the new Division positioned Americanized as a full-service, boutique broker to service all of its clients’ insurance and risk management needs.

In 2021, Americanized Benefit Consultants and Americanized Property Casualty created a powerful new vision with expanded capabilities and services. The Americanized firms brought their two, excellent teams together and rebranded under a new name: Empower Benefits and Insurance Group (Empower BIG). Empower Benefits and Insurance Group maintains the same independence and entrepreneurial spirit as Americanized. Empower has the same teams, employees and focus on client-centricity and thinking outside of the box, just with a new name and ever-expanding capabilities. Since we remain an independent, privately held firm we are free of stockholder demands and unencumbered by corporate bureaucracy. You, our clients, remain our top priority.
