James Day brings over 20+ years of experience from the TPA and insurance carrier perspective. During his career, James worked on mostly self-funded large groups with 1,000+ lives. He brings a proven track record of experience in selling, implementing, and managing in excess of 190,000 covered lives.

James worked as the sales director for Memorial Hermann Hospital for over eight years. This experience provides Empower and their client’s additional insight into provider discounts and payment disputes. During this time James was named project manager and placed in charge of launching a new fully insurance product for the Hospital System (MHealth). This experience introduced him to numerous contacts within the industry relating to compliance including the Department of Labor, ERISA, State Insurance Department, and even the IRS.

James was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and moved to Houston in 1980. He attended Blinn College and then earned a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Houston. He has two children, Emily and Grayson. James, a resident of The Woodlands is active in his local church (The Loft) and volunteers with The Will Herndon Fund.
